Cast Your Cares

“God did not create us to carry the burdens of this life.”

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 55:22

VERSE FOR TODAY: Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”

Sometimes we carry a burden that we aren’t meant or designed to carry. God did not create us to carry the burdens of this life. Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” God said for us to cast our burdens upon Him. God turns our weakness into strength when we cast our worries, fears, and burdens upon him but in order to do so, we must fully trust Him.

There is a quote from Francis Chan that I feel really puts the way we “trust God” sometimes into perspective:

“We say things like, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” and “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” Then we live and plan like we don’t believe God even exists. We try to set our lives up so everything will be fine even if God doesn’t come through. But true faith means holding nothing back. It means putting every hope in God’s fidelity (faithfulness) to His promises.” -Francis Chan

God always has a way but if we do not fully give it over to Him he can’t relieve us of our cares. There are times that you have to stand in faith waiting on your answer. Believing that God has it, His grace will carry you through. Once you truly give it over to Him it is his problem now. You have to believe that he is big enough to handle it. If you are having sleepless nights worrying then you haven’t truly cast all of your cares upon him.

2 Corinthians: “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” For when I am weak then I am strong the only reason I am strong is that I know the God that I serve is taking care of everything.

Prayer thoughts: I cast all my cares upon You, I lay all of my burdens down at your feet, And anytime I don’t know what to do, I will cast all my cares upon You -Psalty
